Walking Trips
It goes without saying that the Pyrenees are paradise for walking and trekking. However, local knowledge is invaluable in respect of knowing the routes, length of various trips, level of difficulty etc, so we are offering guided trips for excursions into this stunning scenery. This can be as an extra dimension to your holiday for one or more days, or your entire visit can be dedicated to trekking and exploring.
The area around St Jean Pied de Port is below 2500m altitude, so day walks are easily undertaken with the terrain ranging from easy up to C+ level (Terrain hard, strenuous days offering excitement and challenge with up to seven hours walking and occasional scrambling, boots essential). The famous “pilgrim” route, the G.R.65, as well as the equally famous trans-Pyrenean G.R.10 pass right through St Jean Pied de Port making an enjoyable day’s trekking available literally on your doorstep.
